Producer Juarez Pereira Neto, 59 years old, is married to Maria de Santana Pereira. Juarez has been working with coffee for over 51 years. In 2017, they acquired the land that would become known as Cabeceira do Cachoeirão Farm with a total of 9 hectares. About 90% of the coffee planted on the farm is Catucaí Tinto 785/15. The remaining 10% are Catuaí Tinto IAC 144. Juarez started producing specialty coffees in 2021, this being the third consecutive year in the segment. In 2021, the farm was the champion in the special coffees contest organized by Emater and the runner-up in the Matas de Minas regional contest. In 2022, it was the champion in the National Winner category at the Cup Of Excellence 2022 competition. All work on the farm is done by the family. The processing of specialty coffee is done by hand.
