Let's talk about Muganza

The Muganza washing station, located in Rwanda's Kizi Rift region within the Nyamagabe district, is operated by Emmanuel Rusatira, founder of Baho Coffee. Established in 2016, Baho Coffee manages 12 washing stations across Rwanda, emphasizing the production of unique coffee profiles that reflect the country's diverse terroirs.
The Muganza station collaborates with over 250 local coffee growers who cultivate Red Bourbon arabica varieties at elevations ranging from 1,700 to 2,000 meters above sea level. The station employs modern processing techniques, including the "Natural Sleeping Bag" method, which involves meticulous cherry selection followed by outdoor drying using the Sleeping Bag technique. This approach contributes to the coffee's distinctive flavor profile, characterized by notes of grapefruit, red cherry, raspberry, and honey.
